ALL PACKED
I wish it were that easy! Planning for this vacation took months, packing took 2 weeks! Paying for it….we’ll worry about that when when we get back! ;P Just Kidding
Seriously, when dealing with kids, as some of you may know, it’s a chore to take them with you and it’s a chore when you leave them behind. Add special needs to the mix and I’m telling you there were moments we were like it’s not worth the effort we will just stay home!
It’s a good thing we started 2 weeks early!!
We had to make a trip to see GG before we left…
We had to dump the pictures on our phones to the backup drive, pay all bills, visit necessary doctors prior to leaving, provide at least one relative with all account information for banks, insurance, emails, trusts, including Hope4Harper info and the go to spot for the will and all information pertaining to the children and our estate, as well as Harper’s medical binder,
YUP she has a binder! One Per Year!
For both kids we had to write out medication/supplements and extra circular activity schedules (Harper’s therapies that we did not cancel like speech/communication and swimming and Lily’s gymnastics). Provide emergency numbers, doctors numbers including dentists, chiropractors, neurologists, etc… because you never know what may happen, we might choose not come home! ;P haha We had to draft consent to treat medical forms and send insurance cards with each kid.
We had to Pack Lily for Grandma’s (Dustin’s Mom) house… Let me rephrase that we had to unpack half of what she was insisting needed to go to Grandma’s house!
Moe Moe (Penny’s Mom) will be staying with Harper and Petey. Luckily she is another main caretaker of Harper so she is familiar with her needs but we still had to…
Pull her medications and supplements for the week…
and turn the following into a weeks worth of food for Harper to choose from. YES we let her make the choice by nodding yes or no as well say her food choices…
…AND put in a fresh tube and tape in case Moe Moe has any hydration or feeding issues while we are gone.
We are heading to CoCo View Resorts
…a 29 room dive resort in Roatan, Honduras. We will be unreachable by phone unless it’s an absolute emergency. We should have internet and we might get around to posting a picture while we are away!
6 Days with NO NURSES, NO KIDS, NO RESPONSIBILITES! I wish I could say NO CDKL5 but that is not true because those 4 letters and one number have changed us forever!
