Big in 2014: seizure control
Harper’s first dose of high-cbd hemp oil from HempMedsPX was September 2013. The biggest challenge was dosing. After much trial and error Harper has gained seizure control with the addition of RSHO. All of the details and a timeline of Harper’s experience are documented on Harper’s Hemp.
and a BABY BROTHER!
September 15th, 2014 brought the birth of baby Seth “Pickles” Howard. This was truly the biggest and most joyous surprise of the year.
The Howard Family would like to THANK YOU for your prayers and support in 2014. We wish you and your family a prosperous and blessed 2015. We are looking forward to it!
Save the dates for 2015
There is so much to look forward to in 2015 and our family is ready! Please mark the following dates on your 2015 calendar because the year holds some exciting possibilities. This includes our goal to fund an RSHO (Real Scientific Hemp Oil) clinical trial! Details as soon as I can finalize them, so keep your fingers crossed.
2014 month-by-month recap
Here is a list of links to the biggest stories of Harper’s year in month order:
Old Friends, New Adventures, and the Possibility of Princesses: In January, Harper and Lily visit Disney
Pseudomonas and a Hospital Update: DISCHARGED! in February, Harper also learns she will be a BIG SISTER…Wait, What?
The Flight After Disney I Never Shared: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! in March, travel is difficult when our special needs family comes up against a big airline. Also in March, we begin to really see how Industrial Hemp has Changed Harper’s Life.
In April, some things were worth continuing to fight for: Losing Her Voice: Medicaid Denies Communication Device.
May brought our Hoarding4Hope indoor garage sale fundraiser on Memorial Day Weekend. And I learned what I’m not going to do next time!
Then, the halfway mark of our year got us to a milestone we couldn’t wait reach and share in June: Three Months NO Visible SEIZURES. Truly a great way to commemorate CDKL5 Awareness Month.
In July we took an inventory: Harper has Attitude, Smiles, Interaction, Participation and Communication!! This is what RSHO has done for us.
August 2014 came and left us celebrating a life gone by. With GG: From First Memories to Last Moments was Harper and Lily’s first experience with losing a loved one.
We ran right into September’s Run4Hope where we were again amazed at the support Harper receives from so many as we work to fund seizure research and epilepsy awareness. Just over two weeks later, the greatly anticipated “Pickles” arrived! The time to write blog post updates went WAY DOWN after that event so most of the excitement was posted in photo form to Harper’s Facebook page.
October then ran right into us! With the news of the passing of three CDKL5-children in a short period of time, I began to really consider how much time we can really hope to have with Harper: The Challenge of Giving Wings to Harper’s Wish.
Harper’s Visible Seizures Reappear in November, thanks to a very hard-to-fight infection.
And December came and went with AES 2014, purple toes for epilepsy awareness and our final fundraiser of the year, Hams 4 Hope.
