Harper + Harper = Instant Friendship
It’s been just over 2 years since we had the amazing opportunity to take Harper on my business trip to Orlando, Florida to meet the Dolly’s Foundation rehabilitated swimmer pup, Harper, and it’s inspirational founder, Erica Daniel!
The two Harpers were instant friends. At that time Harper was just 18 months old and Lily was 3. We didn’t exactly know what to expect by spontaneously adding our Harper to my business trip so Dustin and I opted not to bring Lily even though we would be at the Walt Disney World Hilton. I still had a job to manage while there.
This was a decision we have regretted for the past 2 years.
Now that both children are older (Lily 6 and Harper 3.5) I think they are both in a much better place to actually understand and enjoy Disney. With the help of many friends, a ton of collected airline miles and the same Walt Disney Hilton Hotel that made special accommodations for both Harpers two years ago, we are getting our wish as parents to take the sisters to Disney World.
We will also get the opportunity to reunite with Dolly’s Foundation and the Florida CDKL5 families while we are there.
Have Plan, Will Travel
Travel with Harper is definitely hard and requires a lot of planning and preparation but this trip will be worth every effort!!!

- a carry on designated for medical equipment and medicine only
- the suction machine, diapers and wipes
- plus a folding tumble matt which we use as a changing pad seeing as Harper is 3.5 years old (too long and too heavy for the infant changers).
WHEW!
Good News: Harper’s Industrial HEMP OIL travels in our carry on bag with no issues! Because it’s legal in the US and other countries we are able to take the girls to the “Happiest Place on Earth!” and maintain our excellent level of seizure control and alertness during the trip.
Don’t forget something to keep Lily and Harper entertained. There is no need for a pillow because Mommy and Daddy are the entertainers! Two adults and two kids were able to pack everything else in one check bag weighing in right at 50 pounds.
Our Family + Disney = moments worth waiting for
