One week down….Two more to go!! Harper did FABULOUS with the Therasuit Method!! I wonder, am I supposed to be this tired when I’m not the one who did the three hour workouts each day? 😉
It was a great week here at Little Tesoros that started full force on Monday with isolated muscle exercises that help Harper gain strength in specific muscle groups she is weakest in that are needed for head control and sitting. For those interested they used weighted sand bags in 6, 8, and 12 pounds to help isolate the muscle they wanted Harper to work.
They also used Rhino Infant knee immobilizers to stabilize her sit and allow her to work head control in the sit position. This was done in the TheraSuit that is designed to provide extra strength in muscle areas that are weak.
Not all of these exercises are done in the suit. Much of what they are doing here we can continue to work on at home with the weighted bags, wrist and ankle weights and immobilizers. See http://www.rhinopod.com
We are all very excited to see what progress week two will bring. Harper complains during the stretching, tries to play possum during the weight lifting, but really enjoys to practice with the suit. She has been much more verbal this week and although her seizure pattern has changed she is still able to progress and rest.
We enjoyed our visit with Lia, play date with Maddie and show-off day at the end of the week with Great Uncle Jim!
Now we heading home to see sister and daddy; we missed them very much!!
